Memories Made on the Water

Go Fishing with Craig

Why Fish With Craig Instead of Another Guide?

Because this isn't a one-size-fits-all fishing trip.

I book one charter a day. That gives us room to work with your schedule, the conditions and the kind of fishing day you want—not rush you back to the dock because my next group is waiting.

Pick a 3–6 hour private trip. Tell me who's coming, when you'd like to go and what you're looking for.  Want to fish hard? Let's fish. Bringing the kids for their first saltwater trip? Let's make it fun. Never fished before? I'll show you what you need to know. Been fishing your whole life? Grab a rod and let's get after it.

Fish live bait, artificial lures or both. Keep your legal catch or practice catch-and-release. And if your crew wants to slow things down, grab a snack or just enjoy being on the water for a while, that's okay too.

Your crew. Your trip. Your kind of day fishing the Upper Laguna Madre around Corpus Christi and North Padre Island.

I can't control what the fish decide to do—but I can control how much effort I put into giving you a great day on the water.

MEET CAPTAIN CRAIG

Yep, That's Me. And I'm the Guy You'll Be Fishing With.

When you book Go Fishing with Craig, you're not booking through a company that decides later who your captain will be. You're fishing with me.

I've been around boats and fishing most of my life, served in the U.S. Navy, previously owned a boat-rental and charter business, and today I'm a USCG-licensed captain and Texas-licensed and insured fishing guide.

But credentials aren't what make a great day on the water.

I like teaching somebody who's never fished before just as much as I enjoy fishing with somebody who's been doing it their whole life. Ask questions, learn something new, tell me to quit talking and let you fish—I'm good with all three.

TRIPS & PRICING

Pick the Time. Pick the Trip. Let's Go Fishing.

Not everybody wants the same fishing trip—and you shouldn’t have to pay for more time on the water than you want. Choose a private 3, 4, 5 or 6-hour trip, tell me who’s coming and what departure time works best for your crew, and we’ll go from there.

I only book one charter a day, so we’re not working around another group waiting at the dock. Want to get out early and fish hard? Great. Want a little later start with the kids? That can work too. We’ll plan the trip around your crew, your fishing goals and the conditions.

Private fishing doesn’t have to mean expensive. Pick the trip that fits your day and let’s go fishing.

THE FISHING

Never Fished Saltwater? Fish All the Time?
You're Good.

Lines Out. Fish On. Let’s Have Some Fun.

This is where the planning stops and the fishing starts. We’ll head out across the Upper Laguna Madre looking for redfish, speckled trout, black drum and flounder—and see what the day gives us.

Throw artificials, fish live bait under a popping cork, or mix it up and do both. Work a shoreline. Drift some water. Chase a bite when we find one. If the fish make us work for it, we work for it. When they turn on, hang on and enjoy the ride.

Want to take some legal fish home for dinner? Absolutely. Rather watch them swim away? Release them and keep fishing. Either way, the goal is the same: have fun, catch some fish and make the kind of memories you'll still be talking about after you get home

Come see what fishing the Upper Laguna Madre is all about

The Boat

Room to Fish. Built to Enjoy the Day.

The boat you see above is the boat you'll actually be fishing from - a 2020 NauticStar 227 Bay powered by a Yamaha 150. No stock photo and no surprise when you get to the marina.

The higher gunwales give the boat a more secure, comfortable feel than many low-sided bay boats, while the open deck gives everyone room to move, cast and fish without constantly climbing over gear. There's shade when you want it and onboard cooler space for drinks, snacks and the day's catch.

And she's equipped to fish. Lowrance electronics, GPS/chartplotting and fish-finding technology, Spot-Lock trolling motor, Power-Pole shallow-water anchor and hydraulic jack plate help us navigate, find fish, hold where we want to fish and work the shallow water of the Upper Laguna Madre.

You don't need to know what all that equipment does—that's my job. What matters to you is less time fighting the boat and more time fishing.

Comfortable. Capable. Fully equipped. Ready to fish.

Where We Meet

Easy to Find. Easy to Get on the Water

Your trip starts at Bluff Bay Marina on Jester Street, near NAS Corpus Christi, with convenient access to the Upper Laguna Madre.

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your confirmed departure time so there's plenty of time to meet up, get everyone aboard, go over the basics and be ready to leave on time.

Your trip confirmation will include the meeting details, and the link below will take you directly to the marina in Google Maps.

What to Expect

Ready for the water?

A little planning before the trip makes the day a whole lot easier. What should you bring? Do you need a fishing license? Where do we meet? What about waivers, weather, keeping your catch or bringing the kids?

I provide the rods, reels, tackle, live bait and required safety equipment, plus cooler space for your drinks and snacks. Bring only the personal essentials you’ll need for the day—we keep the deck clear so there’s plenty of room to move around and fish.

There are a few things you’ll want to know before your trip, so I’ve put the details together in one place—from fishing licenses and what to bring to arrival, weather, waivers and what happens with your catch.

Check out Know Before You Go and get the details before we head out.

READY TO PLAN YOUR TRIP?

No Cost. No Obligation.
Just Tell Me What You’re Looking For.

Sending an inquiry doesn’t commit you to booking. Tell me who’s coming, the trip you’re interested in, and the date and departure time you’d prefer. I’ll personally review the details before anything is confirmed.

No deposits and no payment just to inquire. Full payment is only required after the trip details work for you and you’re ready to confirm your charter.
